Pause for Paws is a community service project organized by fifth grader Isabella Moore to collect new collars, leashes and toys for dogs and cats. The donations benefit the Riverview Animal Hospital and Humane Educational Society. Many of the items will go to families and animals who have been displaced by the recent hurricanes.

The drive lasts through September 27. Collection boxes are located in the main lobby for grades 1-5 and in the Early Childhood Center for JPK-K. The grade that brings the most items will have a special surprise after Fall Break. The winning grade will be announced at the Fifth Grade and Faculty Volleyball Game on September 28.

UPDATE: A total of 569 items were collected and delivered to RAH. The fifth grade won the contest by contributing 111 items. Thank you!
