PA Volunteer Applications Due Tomorrow

Here is your chance to participate in the Parents' Association for the 2018-19 school year! There are openings for leadership roles, activity and event chairs and committee members. Download the Willingness to Serve form here, fill out the last page and turn it into Kim Brown in the office by 3 p.m.on Tuesday, March 20.

Front Door Reminders

For security purposes, the front doors at the columns are locked most of the day. They are unlocked between 7:30-8 a.m. and 2:30-3 p.m. From 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., you must ring the buzzer to be asked to be let in or use your fob to open the door. The Early Childhood Center building is locked after 8 a.m., so if your child is late, you will need to come in the front doors at the columns, sign in at the office, and walk your child through the building to his or her classroom in the ECC.

After school between 3-4 p.m., you will have to buzz in at the front door or use your fob. After 4 p.m., the front doors are locked, and the office is closed. You cannot buzz in or use your fob after that time. If you are picking up your child from an after school class in the main building, you will need to wait at the concourse for the children to come out or go to the ECC front desk. Parents may purchase fobs for the front door in the office for $9.

Invitations for Grandparents' Day Due Friday

Grandparents' and Special Friends' Day is coming up this year on Friday, May 4. Your child should have brought home a sheet asking for names and addresses for the school to send invitations. Please return these sheets to the office by this Friday. If you need to download a new form, please click here.

The PA needs volunteers to help with this event. If you are interested, please contact Bibber McCurdy at [email protected] or call/text at 423-580-8798. We need and appreciate anyone who may be able to help!

Bright Fit Shirt Day on Friday

Friday is the first day students may wear Bright Fit shirts with uniform bottoms. Other Bright Fit shirt days are April 6, 13 and 20.

Shirts ordered online will be delivered to children this week, so please check their backpacks! If you missed buying a shirt, there are limited quantities of sizes YS, YM, YL, XS, S, M, and L in the office for $10.

Bright Fit Week is April 16-20. Make plans now to join us for Bright Fit Night on Friday, April 20, for an evening of fun activities for the whole family. More details coming soon!

As part of the fifth grade bake sale, students are selling Krispy Kreme doughnuts in advance. The bake sale is April 6, and the doughnuts will be ready to take home on April 5. The cost is $10 per dozen. Orders and payment are due to the office by Wednesday, March 21.

Bring Used Equipment for P.E.

Do you have softball or baseball equipment you or your child has outgrown or doesn't use anymore? P.E. can use it! Please bring in gloves, helmets, bats, catcher's mask and or softballs. Thank you!

Save the Date: Spring Gardening Day

Spring Gardening Day in the Early Childhood gardens is on Earth Day, April 22, from 1-2:30 p.m. As opposed to past gardening events, our focus this time will be strictly planting our spring/summer harvest. Pizza and water will be served right away for a quick lunch before the fun begins. Please send RSVPs to Mr. Greene at [email protected] to ensure enough food for all of our wonderful volunteers.

We are asking for you to please bring a special flower, plant, bush, or fruit tree for your child to plant and tend to in the coming weeks during school. If you are unable to attend but would still like to make a donation, you may send it in to Mr. Greene's classroom the week prior to Earth Day. Thank you for supporting our beautiful gardens and we hope to see you there!
