Order Bright Fit T-Shirts by Wednesday

Shirts are now available to purchase online. The shirts are the same design as two years ago, and students may wear those shirts again this year. They may wear the shirts with uniform bottoms on March 23, April 6, April 13 and April 20. Click here to order now. The online store will only be open today through Wednesday. 

Bright Fit Week is coming soon, and now is the time to order t-shirts that students may wear to school. Adult sizes also are available. Bright Fit, held every other year, encourages students and families to participate in healthy activities. It is April 16-20, culminating with Bright Fit Night on Friday, April 20. More details are coming soon!

Sign Up for Bright's Got Talent by Friday

Our 6th annual talent show, Bright's Got Talent, for students in grades 2-5 is March 9, 2018 at 4:30 pm. Sign-ups are due Friday.

There will be an informational meeting on Friday, March 2, at 3 p.m. in the theater for students who are signed up to perform. We will have a practice session on Monday, March 5, at 3 p.m., and a dress rehearsal on Thursday, March 8, at 4 p.m. In order to perform for the live show, students must attend the practice and dress rehearsal. Each act is limited to a two-three minute performance, and students must provide their own music, props and/or costumes.

If you would like for your child to participate in this show, please download and sign this form and return it to the main office by this Friday. Contact Renee' Kropff if you have questions.

Volunteer with the Parents' Association

Here is your chance to participate in the Parents' Association for the 2018-19 school year! There are openings for leadership roles, activity and event chairs and committee members. Download the Willingness to Serve form here, fill out the last page and turn it into Kim Brown in the office by 3 p.m.on Tuesday, March 20.

Bookstore Reopening Soon

The Bright 1913 Bookstore will be reopening soon! The bookstore and Mr. Morgan's office were damaged when a pipe burst last month.

The bookstore will sell flowers for the first grade play on Tuesday and Wednesday. The bouquets are $5.

Box Tops Collection Extended One Day

Forget to bring your Box Tops last week? You have one more day. Please bring Box Tops to the office by tomorrow morning. Put them in a bag labeled with your child's name, grade and teacher.

The overall school winner will receive a customized S'well water bottle that can be reused daily and filled with the new water fountain at school. The winner will be announced on Friday.

Remember, our goal this year is to collect 12,000 Box Tops to pay for the new water fountain/bottle filling station by the gym. 

Happy Cart Help

The Bright School Parents' Association provides snacks for faculty and staff each week in the Happy Cart room in the main office and now in the work room of the Early Childhood Center. There are several spots remaining for volunteers to bring snacks. To sign up for the main office and in the ECC, use this link. Used Uniform Sale

The next used uniform sale will be Wednesday, March 7, from 7:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the treehouse, which is located upstairs above the main lobby.

Order a 2017-18 Yearbook

Online ordering for the 2017-18 yearbook is now open. If you would like to order a yearbook, please use this link and pay online. Click on Buy Yearbook in the middle of the screen to begin. Yearbooks will be available for pick up at Registration Day in August for current JPK-4 grades. Fifth graders will be invited to a yearbook party in the fall.

Bright Days is available to children age 3 by August 1 (and potty trained) through age 8 or rising third graders. The program begins June 4 and runs through the first week of August but is closed the week of July 4.

A regular day is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for $200 a week with early care between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. for no charge. Late care will be available from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for $35 a week. There is a half day option, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., for $150. Lunch is included in the weekly price.

Understanding Girls Speaker on March 15-16

Lisa Damour, author of Untangled: Guiding Teenage Girls Through the Seven Transitions into Adulthood, is speaking at GPS on March 15 and 16. 

The main session is 7-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, in Frierson Theatre. A second, shorter session is 9-9:45 a.m. on Friday, March 16, in Caldwell Commons.
