School founder Mary G. Bright started many holiday traditions still going strong today. A giant Christmas tree, and the annual Christmas program with children singing and Santa handing out gifts have been enjoyed by generations of students. This year's Christmas program is at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20.

Decorations abound throughout the school with handmade children's ornaments and reindeer with various color noses. There is a tree in the front lobby and wreaths on the doors.

Fifth graders paint holiday scenes on the windows around the courtyard. Every year, a new batch of Santas made in shop class go to students' homes and become favorite decorations to be enjoyed for years to come.
