Eight teams of students in grades 3-5 competed Saturday morning at the Perennial Math competition at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

The first part of the competition was an individual timed test, and the second part was a team test. There were five students on each team.

Two teams placed first, and two teams placed second. Individually, there were seven student who won. The team competition combined individual scores and team scores.

Math Academy teacher Diane Kemp organized the teams and prepared students for the competition. Several parents served as volunteer proctors and others attempted the "parent test," which was the fifth and sixth grade team test.
