On March 14, The Bright School celebrated Pi Day with a contest to memorize the most digits of pi. Fourth grader Hadley Golden set a school record with 350 digits of pi. Third grader Ashley Yim recited 244 digits, and her brother, fifth grader Evan Yim, recited 217. The kindergarten winner was Nayana Vardhana with 22 digits. First grader Pei-Ying Olsen had 70, and second grader Anderson Golden recited 61.

Several classes incorporated pi in their math activities for the day, and there was chicken pot pie and apple pie for lunch.

The evening was Math Night sponsored by Mathnasium and planned by Math Academy teacher Diane Kemp. Students and their families visited stations set up in the gym to try different math puzzles and games.
