Carol Yim, president of the Parents' Association this year, received the National PTA Life Achievement Award during Open House. Carol, and her husband Daniel, are the parents of two current students, Evan and Ashley, and recent graduate Lauren. She has been active in volunteering at Bright since Lauren began school.

The National PTA Life Achievement Award recognizes a person who lives out his or  her commitment to children on a daily basis and tirelessly advocates for children's education, health and well-being. With Carol's guidance, Bright now celebrates Chinese New Year each year, and she has worked to improve school life and parent involvement.

As PA president, Carol helps oversee all the volunteer activities of the Parents' Association, which organizes several events throughout the year, manages the school bookstore and provides assistance to teachers.

Elizabeth Jackson, mother of current student Sophie and recent graduate John, will be next year's president.
