The Bright School has, thanks to generous donors, provided funding for travel to faculty members the last seven years. Faculty and staff may submit proposals for travel experiences that will enhance and expand their professional and personal knowledge and understanding of the world. One proposal is selected by random drawing each year.
Before this year's participant was selected last week, Board of Trustees Chair Julie Guerry announced her family is donating additional funding and, thus, renaming the program the O.J. Morgan Travel Grant.
Assistant Head of School for Curriculum and Instruction Christy Lusk will be using this year's travel grant to go to England and Scotland. Previous winners include Diane Kemp, who went to Czech Republic and Spain, and Beth Warren, who went to Egypt and Israel.
